Welcome to Amarillo Prospectors  & Treasure Hunters Association web home. We encourage you to check us out if you live in the Amarillo area and enjoy the great outdoors, prospect, metal detect for coins, gold or relics, enjoy History and want to find like minded people in the area. Amarillo Prospectors & Treasure Hunters Association is a family friendly organization and encourages everyone to get our youth involved in appreciating and enjoying the great outdoors. We have Members with all levels of expertise and experience, from the beginner, just learning, to the seasoned expert. With roughly half the membership involved in prospecting as their primary interest and the other half primarily interested in metal detecting it makes for a good mix of interest and capabilities. Our group has monthly meetings to share information, experiences and programs that are informative and entertaining. We sponsor group activities to share our interest, from Coin Shoots to Gold Prospecting trips. We meet the 2nd Tuesday at 7:00PM in The Canyons meeting room. Our Code Of Ethics for Treasure Hunters

I WILL respect private property and do no treasure hunting without the owner's permission.

I WILL fill all excavations.

I WILL appreciate and protect our heritage of natural resources, wildlife, and private property.

I WILL use thoughtfulness, consideration, and courtesy at all times.

I WILL build fires in designated or safe places only.

I WILL leave gates as found.

I WILL remove and properly dispose of any trash that I find.

I WILL NOT litter.

I WILL NOT destroy property, buildings, or what is left of ghost towns and deserted structures.

I WILL NOT tamper with signs, structural facilities, or equipment.
