Our Club Bylaws

 If you are a member or considering joining the Amarillo Prospectors & Treasure Hunters Association please make yourself familiar with our bylaws.

Our Mission Statement

Club Mission: Teach and Share knowledge among all members; Provide a service to the community; Preserve our national heritage; Leave property in good or better condition than it was when we arrived; Obey All federal, state, and or local laws regarding treasure hunting; Increase awareness of our mutual pastime.

Find of the Month Rules

Every member is encouraged to enter their best find for recognition and prizes; see rules here
- REMEMBER -
All of us Prospectors, Metal Detectorists, and
Treasure Hunters may be judged by the example YOU set!

Our Code of Ethics

  • I WILL respect private property and do no treasure hunting without the owner's permission.

  • I WILL fill all excavations.

  • I WILL appreciate and protect our heritage of natural resources, wildlife, and private property.

  • I WILL use thoughtfulness, consideration, and courtesy at all times.

  • I WILL build fires in designated or safe places only.

  • I WILL leave gates as found.

  • I WILL remove and properly dispose of any trash that I find.

  • I WILL NOT litter.

  • I WILL NOT destroy property, buildings, or what is left of ghost towns and deserted structures.

  • I WILL NOT tamper with signs, structural facilities, or equipment.
